After more than 10+ years of experience in the production industry, Kate Hammond set out to create a studio that tells inclusive and stories, hires diverse talent, and works with clients that have integrity. I worked directly with Kate to develop the brand of ‘Softcut’ before launch, giving a bold and fresh look and feel to this much needed space in the industry.
The logo system for Softcut includes a bold type with soft curves, and a version that is just illuminated by a gradient glow. The thick sans serif displays the brands bold way of being, while the soft glow encapsulates the essence of moving with empathy.
In creating a color system for Softcut, an ownable bold blue was chosen to match the heart of the company ethos. The neon pop assists the branding in highlighting industry-changing elements that Softcut is bringing to the world of filmmaking.
Social guidelines and templates were created so that internally Softcut can easily create content as needed, while keeping imagery and type feeling on brand across platforms.
The brand system was then continued into social and promotional assets, combining all brand elements across digital and print assets.
